The CIS Artifact Expressions documentation is a guide for creating Artifacts during benchmark customization. The documentation is organized by family and broken down by Artifact Types. For each Artifact Type you will find a summary that contains descriptions of various components, supported Test Types and parameters as well as examples of generated content.

Key terms:

Artifact - can optionally be added to a benchmark recommendation. Can be defined as a specification of a computing resource attribute and method of assessing that attribute

Artifact Type - a model of a computing resource attribute that can be assessed

Test Type - defines what parameters are used to identify the specific assessment to be used against that computing resource

Parameters - a field on an Artifact to collect values needed for assessment depending on the Artifact or Test types selected

Generated content - the various formats that can be generated from the defined benchmark content including recommendation prose and Artifacts

Benchmark Customization Community - CIS SecureSuite members can join the CIS Members : Benchmark Customization Discussions Community on WorkBench. This community is a place to seek guidance, or share experience and information with other benchmark customization users.
